BARLO Housing Ltd operates a property based Landlord Accreditation Scheme which registers and accredits individual properties. Members are asked to provide details of all the properties they own and or manage in Bolton. This makes it quicker and easier for the Landlord Accreditation Scheme to contact landlords with information relating to the tenant, property and local area. Accreditation Schemes are voluntary and rely on the honesty and goodwill of its landlord members.
BARLO operates two levels of membership: Associate MemberAssociate Member status is awarded to those landlords who have signed a self-declaration stating they are achieving and maintaining the Accreditation Scheme Code of Standards. Once copies of satisfactory gas and electrical safety certificates have been received the Accreditation Scheme will issue a basic Property Certificate [pdf]. |
Full MemberFull Member status is awarded to those landlords who in addition to signing the self-declaration provide copies of satisfactory gas and electric safety certificates, have one or more properties checked and formally accredited by the Accreditation Scheme. A BARLO Accredited Property Certificate [pdf] is then issued making it easier for landlords to advertise and tenants to identify quality affordable properties. |
Membership is free and landlords can apply by downloading and returning a BARLO Membership Application Form [pdf].
