FREE Home Security Improvements
Tenants who are victims of domestic burglary are less likely to be satisfied with the property or the neighbourhood, and may choose to terminate a tenancy prematurely.
Help us prevent burglaries by protecting your tenants and properties, reducing criminal damage and vandalism.
Following a successful grant application in 2009 BARLO helped make over 305 private rented homes more secure.
A new project ‘Be Secure' operated by Bolton Council is also designed to prevent and reduce burglary by improving home security. Any resident in Bolton this includes your tenants who are:
• A victim of domestic burglary?
• Over 60 years old?
• A lone parent?
• In receipt of certain sickness or disability related benefits?
• In receipt of certain employment or income related benefits?
may be eligible for free of charge home security improvements. This could include door locks, window locks, door chains and door viewers.
Accredited Properties
In addition to the above Be Secure will accept referrals direct from BARLO for all private tenants regardless of their circumstances who are occupying a property inspected and accredited by BARLO after June 2010 for free of charge home security assessment and improvements.
